Question by Joe M: Need To Find The Right Bowling Ball?
I’m going to start bowling in a league in about a week and need to decide on what type of ball to use. I bowl using the 2 finger method and average around the 170 to 180 range using house balls. I don’t plan on changing my style of bowling….I’m justing looking for the right ball to suite me. I’m wanting a ball of my own but can’t decide on what type or brand. I get a good hook using the 2 finger method and I’m happy with my average……however……I’d like to improve it. I don’t know if using a reactive resin coverstock will cause me to hook the ball too much or if I’ll still be able to control it. I have trouble hitting the 10 pin due to the spin I put on the ball bowling right-handed…..but can manage it. I’m looking for a ball that I can still control the hook while using the two finger method……but maybe hook it with less effort and still remain accurate. Any help would be much appreciated…..thanks in advance.
Answer by mel only finger position and weight matters in a bowling ball. “brand” is just something they used to do to cattle.
if you want more “hook”, don’t throw as hard.
